What is a used van warranty?

A used van warranty can help pay for repairs when something mechanical or electrical breaks on your van. Each repair request is reviewed individually by Warrantywise.

Most new van warranties end after 3 years, and many stop sooner once the van reaches 100,000 miles. A busy van can hit that mileage well before the 3 years are up.

A Brumble van warranty, sometimes called an extended van warranty, picks up where the maker’s warranty ends. Plans are available on vans up to 15 years old and 150,000 miles, with no weight limit. The price is the same whatever the age of your van.

How long do new van warranties last?

Here is the standard warranty on a new van from the main UK makers. Once it ends, repair bills are yours to pay unless you have a warranty plan.

What goes wrong with vans? Brumble's MOT analysis

We looked at 2025 MOT test results for the UK’s most popular vans. Vans cover far more miles than most cars, so they fail their MOT more often. The most common problems are lamps and electrics, and suspension.

What does a warranty include?

Every plan includes these as standard, regardless of your plan level:

  • £0 voluntary contribution towards authorised repair costs.
  • Unlimited repairs up to your vehicle’s value over the life of your warranty plan.
  • AA breakdown assistance, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Car hire benefit, where applicable, while your vehicle is being repaired.
  • Hotel and onward travel benefits.
  • Repairs in Europe, reimbursed at UK rates, in line with your warranty plan.
  • Independent review by an industry expert if you disagree with a repair decision.

Your warranty plan level is based on your vehicle's fuel type, age and mileage. Different plan levels are designed around different vehicle components and repair contribution limits. The price is the same for every plan level.

Why a breakdown costs a van driver more

When your van is off the road, the repair bill is only part of the cost. It can also mean missed jobs, late deliveries and lost income.

Every Brumble van warranty includes 24/7 AA breakdown assistance. Where applicable, you also get a hire vehicle while your van is being repaired, up to £75 a day for up to 10 days, so you can keep working.

Plan Levels

Your plan level is based on your vehicle's fuel type, age and mileage, so you don't choose it. The price is the same for every plan level.
