How much does it cost to finance a Mercedes?

Mercedes-Benz covers a wide price range, from the A-Class at the entry end to the S-Class and AMG models at the top. A used A-Class or CLA can be surprisingly affordable on finance, while a used E-Class or GLE is a larger commitment.

The monthly cost depends on the model, the amount you borrow, the term length, and the APR you are offered. The rate depends on your individual circumstances. Rates start from 9.9% APR. Representative 19.8% APR.

Mercedes models depreciate more quickly than some premium rivals in the first few years, which could work in your favour when buying used. A two or three-year-old C-Class could offer significantly better value than buying new.

Mercedes-AMG models, including the A35, C43, and E53, are also available on finance. Performance models may sit in higher insurance groups and could have higher running costs, so it is worth factoring that in alongside your finance payments.

Popular Mercedes-Benz models to finance

Mercedes-Benz is one of the most popular brands to finance in the UK. Whether you are looking at a used A-Class or a used GLA, HP and PCP are both available via Brumble. Once approved, you can get your car from any verified UK dealer. Here are some of the most commonly financed Mercedes-Benz models.

  • Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Mercedes' most accessible model. Used A-Classes offer a premium interior and technology at competitive prices.

  • Mercedes-Benz C-Class

A best-selling executive saloon and estate. Used C-Classes could offer good value as they depreciate from a high starting point.

  • Mercedes-Benz E-Class

A larger executive car popular with business drivers. Used E-Classes offer a lot of car for the money, particularly estate models.

  • Mercedes-Benz GLA

A compact SUV based on the A-Class. Practical and popular on the used market, with lower running costs than the GLC or GLE.

  • Mercedes-Benz GLC

A mid-size SUV that sits between the GLA and GLE. Strong used demand may help support used values.

  • Mercedes-Benz GLE

A larger premium SUV. Depreciation from new could mean used GLEs are more accessible on finance than the list price suggests.

  • Mercedes-Benz CLA

A stylish coupe-style saloon. Used CLAs offer head-turning looks at a more accessible price than the C-Class Coupe.

  • Mercedes-Benz EQA

Mercedes' fully electric compact SUV. Used EQAs are appearing on the market as the electric range expands.

What are my Mercedes finance options?

HP for your Mercedes

With HP (Hire Purchase), you make fixed monthly payments and own the Mercedes at the end of the agreement. There are no mileage limits. HP is a suitable option if you plan to keep the car for several years.

Many Mercedes owners appreciate the build quality and technology enough to keep their car long-term. HP lets you pay it off and drive it for as long as you like with no further finance costs.

Mercedes PCP

Mercedes PCP is a popular choice for drivers who like to change their car every few years. Monthly payments are typically lower than HP because you only pay for the depreciation. At the end, you can hand it back, pay the balloon to keep it, or use any equity towards your next car.

If the used car market remains strong, a well-maintained Mercedes could be worth more than the balloon payment at the end. That equity is yours to keep or roll into your next agreement.

Mercedes PCP is often available on models such as the A-Class, C-Class, GLA, GLC, CLA, and E-Class, subject to status. Each model has different used values, which affects the balloon payment and monthly cost.

Your rights during the agreement

With both HP and PCP, you have the right to end the agreement early. Voluntary termination is available once you have paid at least half of the total amount payable. You can also settle early by paying the remaining balance.

Both HP and PCP may be available with no deposit on many Mercedes models, subject to status and affordability.

Via Brumble, you can check what options you could be eligible for with a soft search. There is no impact on your credit score. If you then choose to proceed, a hard credit search will be carried out which may impact your credit score.

Should I lease a Mercedes or finance one?

Leasing and finance serve different purposes. With a lease, you never own the car. With finance, you have the option to own it.

Why many Mercedes drivers choose finance

Mercedes builds cars with a reputation for comfort and refinement that many owners want to enjoy long-term. HP gives you full ownership at the end, so you can keep driving a well-built car without ongoing payments.

With PCP, the combination of Mercedes' premium positioning and the used car market's strength means there is often equity to be had at the end of an agreement. Leasing removes any chance of benefiting from that value.

Finance also lets you personalise your Mercedes. Whether it is aftermarket alloys, window tinting, or interior upgrades, finance gives you the freedom to make the car yours. Leasing requires the car to be returned in its original condition.

Both HP and PCP include the right to voluntary termination and early settlement. Leasing contracts typically penalise early exit heavily.

Can I finance a used Mercedes?

Yes. Both HP and PCP may be available on used and second hand Mercedes models from verified UK dealers. You do not need to buy from a Mercedes dealership.

Most lenders allow the car to be up to around 14 to 16 years old at the end of the agreement. Mercedes models from two to five years old often represent the best value, as the steepest depreciation has already happened.

Mercedes-AMG models (A35, C43, E53 etc.) have a reputation for holding their value better than standard models, which can make them interesting on PCP if the balloon payment is set conservatively.

Is it hard to get finance for a Mercedes?

Approval depends on your circumstances. Mercedes models tend to cost more than mainstream brands, so the amount you borrow may be higher. Lenders assess whether the repayments are affordable based on your income and outgoings.

Choosing a more affordable model like a used A-Class or GLA rather than an S-Class or GLE may make it easier to stay within comfortable affordability limits. The smaller the amount you borrow, the more straightforward the approval process tends to be.

How Reliable Are Used Mercedes-Benzs?

According to DVSA MOT data analysed by Brumble, Mercedes-Benz has a national MOT pass rate of 77%, based on 1.50 million tests in the 2025 test year. The national average across all brands is 72.4%.

This places Mercedes-Benz above the national average, which could indicate that used Mercedes-Benzs may be less likely to have issues at MOT time compared to some other brands. However, individual results depend on the car's age, mileage, and maintenance history.

The most common MOT advisory and failure items on Mercedes-Benz vehicles include brake discs, suspension components, and electrical faults. Checking these areas before purchasing could help you avoid unexpected costs during your finance agreement.

Our free MOT checker lets you look up any vehicle's full MOT history by registration number. For a more detailed assessment, our Mercedes-Benz reliability report breaks down pass rates by model, age, and mileage.

Does Mercedes offer 0% finance?

Mercedes occasionally runs 0% finance promotions on selected new models. These promotions, sometimes described as zero interest or 0% APR, are manufacturer-subsidised, require an excellent credit score, and are limited to specific models. They are not available on used cars.

If a 0% promotion is not available for the model you want, Brumble's partner offers used car finance as an alternative. Rates start from 9.9% APR, subject to status.
