How much does it cost to finance a Hyundai?

Hyundai covers a wide range of price points. A used i10 or i20 sits at the more affordable end, while a used Tucson or Ioniq 5 is a mid-range commitment. Hyundai models tend to be well-equipped as standard, which could mean used examples feel like good value compared to some rivals.

The monthly cost depends on the model, the amount you borrow, the term length, and the APR you are offered. Rates start from 9.9% APR. Representative 19.8% APR.

Hyundai offers a 5-year unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty, which is transferable to subsequent owners. A used Hyundai that is less than 5 years old may still have warranty cover remaining. This could provide additional peace of mind alongside your finance agreement.

Popular Hyundai models to finance

  • Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai's best-selling SUV in the UK. Used Tucsons tend to be well-equipped and competitively priced.

  • Hyundai i10

A small city car that could be one of the more affordable cars to finance and insure.

  • Hyundai i20

A supermini with generous equipment. Competitively priced against the Polo and Fiesta on the used market.

  • Hyundai Kona

A compact crossover available as petrol, hybrid, or fully electric. Versatile and generally affordable.

  • Hyundai Ioniq 5

An award-winning fully electric car with distinctive retro styling. Used examples are starting to appear at more accessible prices.

  • Hyundai i30

What are my Hyundai finance options?

HP for your Hyundai

With HP (Hire Purchase), you make fixed monthly payments and own the Hyundai at the end of the agreement. There are no mileage limits. Hyundai builds cars with a strong reliability reputation, and HP could be a practical option if you plan to keep the car beyond the finance term.

Hyundai PCP

Hyundai PCP is a popular way to finance a Hyundai. Your monthly payments are typically lower than HP. At the end, you can hand the car back, pay the balloon payment to keep it, or use any equity towards your next car.

If your Hyundai holds its value on the used market, there is potential to build equity by the end of the agreement. Used car values depend on supply, demand, condition, and mileage, so this is never guaranteed.

Hyundai PCP is often available on models such as the Tucson, i10, i20, Kona, and Ioniq 5, subject to status. Each model has different used values, which affects the balloon payment and monthly cost.

Your rights during the agreement

With both HP and PCP, you have the right to end the agreement early through voluntary termination (once you have paid at least half of the total amount payable) or early settlement.

Both HP and PCP may be available with no deposit on many Hyundai models, subject to status and affordability.

Via Brumble, you can check what options you could be eligible for with a soft search. There is no impact on your credit score. If you then choose to proceed, a hard credit search will be carried out which may impact your credit score.

Should I lease a Hyundai or finance one?

Leasing and finance are different. With a lease, you never own the car. With finance, you have the option to own it.

Why many Hyundai drivers may prefer finance

Hyundai's 5-year warranty makes ownership more attractive than with some other brands. If you finance a two-year-old Hyundai on HP over three years, you could still have warranty cover for the first year of your agreement. After that, you own the car outright with no further payments.

With PCP, if the used market remains favourable, there is potential to build equity at the end of the agreement. Leasing removes that opportunity.

Finance also gives you the right to voluntary termination and early settlement. Leasing typically penalises early exit. And finance lets you personalise your car without restrictions.

Can I finance a used Hyundai?

Yes. Both HP and PCP may be available on used and second hand Hyundais from verified UK dealers. Via Brumble, you can finance a used Hyundai from any verified dealer.

Most lenders allow the car to be up to around 14 to 16 years old at the end of the agreement, though this varies. The used Hyundai market tends to offer good availability, particularly for the Tucson and i10.

Hyundai shares its platform with Kia through the Hyundai Motor Group, which means parts availability is generally strong and servicing costs may be competitive.

If you are interested in an electric car, the Kona Electric and Ioniq 5 are both available used. See our hybrid car finance page for more on electric and hybrid options.

Is it hard to get Hyundai finance?

Approval depends on your circumstances. Hyundai models are generally well-priced, so borrowing amounts tend to be reasonable. A used i10 could be one of the more affordable cars to finance.

If you have a lower credit score, our bad credit car finance page may help. If you are a student or young driver, a used i10 or i20 could be worth considering.

How Reliable Are Used Hyundais?

According to DVSA MOT data analysed by Brumble, Hyundai has a national MOT pass rate of 73.9%, based on 0.85 million tests in the 2025 test year. The national average across all brands is 72.4%.

This places Hyundai above the national average, which could indicate that used Hyundais may be less likely to have issues at MOT time compared to some other brands. However, individual results depend on the car's age, mileage, and maintenance history.

The most common MOT advisory and failure items on Hyundai vehicles include suspension components, brake wear, and lighting issues. Checking these areas before purchasing could help you avoid unexpected costs during your finance agreement.

Our free MOT checker lets you look up any vehicle's full MOT history by registration number. For a more detailed assessment, our Hyundai reliability report breaks down pass rates by model, age, and mileage.

Does Hyundai offer 0% finance?

Hyundai occasionally runs 0% finance promotions on selected new models. These promotions, sometimes described as zero interest or 0% APR, are not available all the time and are not available on used cars. They typically require an excellent credit score.

If a 0% promotion is not available, Brumble's partner offers used car finance as an alternative. Rates start from 9.9% APR, subject to status.
